Marvin Olasky, editor-in-chief of WORLD and the author of 20 books, will speak at Church of the Apostles, 333 Church at N. Hills Street in Raleigh on Monday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m.

Olasky's books include The Tragedy of American Compassion and Compassionate Conservatism. He is Dean of the World Journalism Institute and holder of the Distinguished Chair inJourna lism and Public Policy at Patrick Henry College.

Olasky and his wife Susan, married for 41years, have four sons. He earned an A.B. from Yale University in 1971 and a Ph.D. in Amer ican Culture from the University of Michigan in 1976. He has been a Boston Globe correspondent, Communist Party member, Christian Anti-Communism Crusade speaker, Du Pont Company executive speechwriter, University of Texas journa lism professor, syndicated columnist, and Christian college provost.
